About:

The “Browse” is a part of the Sugar desktop and is always included. It is a web browser activity for the Sugar desktop.It helps us to explore a wider source of information and content that can be found on the Internet.To make the most of the activity you need an internet connection.Browse is one the most important activities in the Sugar Desktop.

Features:

Here,You will get the info. about the icons inside the brose-activity.

1. Activity Tool:- Which shows how many instances of the app are running.

2. Text/Edit Tool:- Helps You to edit your text inside the activity like copy, paste etc.

3. View Tool:- By this tool you can adjust the magnification or viewing style of your page.

4.Home:- By clicking this Icon, it will redirect you the default home page.

5.Address Bar (URL):- It shows the URL(Uniform Resource Locator) of the current webpage you are on.

6.Refresh/Reload:- Helps you to reload the page to see if your current changes have been saved or not, or if the graphic content of the page is not fully loaded.

7.Navigation Arrows (Back & Forward):- Takes you to the most recent webpages you have visited.

8.Bookmark:- Helps you bookmark the important pages for future reference.

9.Stop:- Exits the activity immediately .

10.Window tab:- Helps you open/close more than 1 tabs.

Pros:

1. No matter how many tabs you open in the browse activity, it works perfect as it should.
2. Videos and Heavy websites with lots of images load perfectly without any lags or stuttering.

3)It gives you a good variety of developer options, as shown in the above screenshot.

4)Home Screen with the “sugarlabs” logo looks great.

It provides all the functionality that a normal browser gives like Text Search Bar,Privacy Tool,Home Icon,Bookmarks etc.

The main exclusivity about the browse-activity is that it provides us with “OLPC Library” which has built in books, information and pages that we can access even without a connection to the internet.

Improvements:

The browse-activity is overall a great activity for the students.It would be great if it can save credentials so that we don’t have to enter them everytime.
